1. Subcommittee (First year students only)
2. General Committee

Key responsibilities

Subcommittee

  • Open to first year students only. 
  • Tailored towards first year students, the Subcommittee role gives new students a starting point to learn more about their interests and explore all functions of UNIT.
  • Perform basic roles with the objective of learning within the four functions of UNIT.
  • Subcommittee will have the opportunity to move into General Committee and Research Analyst roles at UNIT in their second year at University.    

General Committee

  • Assist with tasks as needed within the four functions of UNIT: Events, Marketing, Publications and Sponsorship.
 
  • Events: Involve yourself within all areas of event logistics including planning, management and overseeing the operation of events throughout the year.
  • Marketing: Undertake tasks to raise the profile of UNIT amongst the general student populace by producing written and visual materials to promote UNIT to the wider student base. Possessing a visual portfolio and/or having experience with visual editing software will be looked upon favourably. 
  • Publications: Create engaging content on UNIT platforms in a team environment with other general committee and research analysts.
  • Sponsorship: Aid carrying out sponsorship duties at UNIT as required.

Research Analyst

  • Research and provide engaging economic and financial content for targeted audiences within UNIT Publications individually and in a team.
  • Write within and outside of a weekly schedule for UNIT publications in a team or individually.
  • Carry out editing and/or publishing of articles created by other members of the team when needed.
  • Fulfil the roles of a General Committee within the Events, Marketing and Sponsorship functions of UNIT as needed.

Key selection criteria

Subcommittee

  • Have an interest/willingness to learn about financial markets, business and economics.
  • Be open to meeting new people.
  • Be open to learning new skills.

General Committee

  • Have an interest/willingness to learn about financial markets, business and economics.
  • Be able to take initiative to bring ideas to life within the four functions of UNIT.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.

Research Analyst

  • Keen interest in financial markets, business and economics. 
  • Possess excellent written communication skills.
  • Be able to take initiative to write content and take constructive criticism.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
